“As part of the Light Study Exhibition curated by Torey Erin and Seth Dahlseid, Light As Motion is an evening of experimental super 8mm films by Allen Killian-Moore, Anna van Voorhis, Torey Erin, Seth Dahlseid, Xavier Tavera, Sarah Sampedro, Kevin Horn and Alan Gerlach. These artists use film as a medium for creating moving visual art, designing experimental perspectives on traditional formats of cinema."
Light Study was a five week program designed by Minneapolis based artists Torey Erin and Seth Dahlseid, for their Hinge Artist Residence at the Kirkbride with support from Springboard for the Arts. Focusing on the fundamentals and importance of light, Light Study is inspired by Thomas Kirkbride’s philosophy that the mentally ill could improve with air, light, and occupational therapy.
